About me and this blog
Who am I?
I am an engineer, hobby hacker and FLOSS enthusiast living in Europe. As a person I try to keep an open mind, never stop learning and contribute to the society as much as I can.
What is this blog going to be about?
I am starting this blog to write about my smarthome setup. My main focus here is to show that you can build a complete smarthome setup without investing a lot of money. That is why I promote open standards. The open standards fire up healthy competition and in the end we get products which are consumer friendly in a wider sense (e.g. not only cost but also feature richness and data privacy).
I mostly try to keep the big players out of my digital life. They promote walled gardens and you always overpay the product you get from them. It's not that I do not like the comfort of buying stuff while laying on my sofa or watching Video-on-Demand. Believe me I do :)! But I prefer that as much as possible the devices and services I use either belong to me (and me having full control over them) or I pay somebody I trust with money to use the service they provide. I am the customer, not the product.
Other topics of interest, which probably are also going to get some blog time, are:
Happy Hacking!!

On Mastodon is where I am mostly hanging around and rambling about interesting stuff. You can find me under @anonimno@social.tchncs.de.
So hang around and let's see what happens!
I have no idea about HTML or web design. These pages are written in Org mode and then simply exported. I used stuff from here, to get the blog running.
